Pip Usher / Five Quick Questions
1. What's on your current playlist?
If I'm feeling sluggish, hip hop is a great way to get motivated for the day ahead. I'll plug my headphones in and turn the music up loud. Current favourites: British artist Stormzy, Tribe Called Quest's latest album, and all the old hits from Mase.
2. Something about you that people would be surprised to know?
Despite living in Bangkok for several years, I still struggle to maintain control of a pair of chopsticks.
3. A recent purchase that you really enjoy?
Does my daily cappuccino at the nearby coffeeshop count? I really enjoy the ritualistic element of that small extravagance.
4. What habit are you trying to implement or get rid of at the moment?
I'd like to be a little bit better at saying no to unnecessary extravagances (see point 3). The problem is that I am excellent at justifying it to myself.
5. A book that changed you?
Truman Capote's In Cold Blood changed the way that I viewed how non-fiction stories could be told. It's the true story of a brutal murder, and the events that came before and after it, but the carefully drawn character portrayals read like fiction.
